Joey Zhou, PhD
2005 Hertz Fellow

Yi (Joey) Zhou pursued his PhD in Rachel Wilson’s lab at Harvard University with the support from his Hertz Fellowship. Joey’s academic interest include computational and systems neuroscience. His long term academic goal is to better understand how simple circuits in the brain transform sensory information into useful internal representations.
Joey was born in China and moved to the United States when he was six years old. In 2001, he graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in northern Virginia. As an undergrad, he earned a BS in biomedical and electrical engineering as well as a BA in philosophy from Duke University.
