Ken Keller, PhD

Ken Keller is a principal at KellerApps, which invests in startups, advises on technology, & serves as interim engineering executive.
Ken is a veteran of Silicon Valley software startups. He is the co-founder of Cadence (SDA lineage), IGN and Collectrium.
Ken received his PhD in computer science at UC Berkeley under Professor Richard Newton. His thesis, An Integrated Circuit CAD Framework, described the Squid data store and Hawk graphics editor. His layout editor, KIC, was used to design chips like the SGI geometry engine. He received his BS in applied math (CS concentration) from CMU where he helped define the CS major.
