John Dorgan

John Dorgan is a professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Colorado School of Mines. His research interests are biorefining, renewable resource utilization, plastics from renewable resources, polymer physics and membrane science. In addition, John is deputy director at the Institute for Advanced Composites Manufacturing Innovation (IACMI), where he is a principal investigator on thermoplastic infusion for wind turbine manufacturing. Previously, he was the site director at the Colorado Center for Biofuels and Biorefining (C2B2), where he founded and coordinated a multi-institutional research center in biofuels and biorefining as part of the Colorado Collaboratory.

John received his PhD in chemical engineering from UC Berkeley with the support of his Hertz Fellowship.
