David J. Galas Tribute Events

David John Galas was a visionary scientist, successful entrepreneur and extraordinary leader who worked tirelessly to advance science and the Hertz Foundation’s mission for more than 50 years. The Galas/Isonaka families and Pacific Northwest Research Institute (PNRI), along with honorary hosts, the Hertz Foundation and the Washington Research Foundation, invite you to a weekend of events in remembrance of David John Galas and his contributions to the scientific community.

Guests are welcome to join the tribute events at any point throughout the day. The program will feature two panels: David's leadership at DOE and the beginning of the Human Genome Project and David's mentorship of young scientists and his impact on them. There will be a poster session with PNRI science and David's last project. The final solo speaker will be David's colleague who worked with him and was mentored by him over the last years of his career. Please wear comfortable attire (no suit or tie).
