Kurtis Carsch is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at The University of Texas at Austin, where he is broadly interested in addressing challenges in chemical synthesis and separations.
Central themes in his research program include alkylation catalysis, nontraditional coordination environment, processable porous solids, and isotopologue chemistry.
Prior to his faculty appointment, Carsch was an Arnold O. Beckman Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley, following earning a joint B.S./M.S. from Caltech and a Ph.D. at Harvard University in chemistry.
In 2021, Carsch received the Hertz Thesis Prize for his findings in copper-mediated amination catalysis and an expanded understanding of transition metal electronic structure.
