Daniel Theobald is founder of The Intelligent Machine Guild.
Theobald a founder, builder, farmer, and investor who loves turning big ideas into global solutions. He’s chairman of #TheFoundersGuild, with a mission to improve financial outcomes and quality of life wherever they are building tomorrow’s enterprises.
He co-founded MassRobotics, a non-profit world leader in robotics innovation. He founded Vecna Robotics to revolutionize manufacturing and logistics with autonomous mobile robots and automated guided vehicles and Mekable to advise industries on how to use technology to mechanize and automate their workflows.
At his research farm in historic Rancho San Gregorio, California, Theobald explores how automation can grow better food for more people, affordably. In 2024, he contributed seed-funding to Rotate8, which makes solar-powered farming robots to help farmers grow sustainable crops and their bottom-line.
Along the way, he’s been granted 67 patents, has another 30 pending, and has had the privilege of seeing technology that he’s helped create move from whiteboards to productive industrial and agricultural operations across the world.
His passion for robotics and automation is driven by his belief in human-centered technological development. When we automate dull, dangerous, or repetitive tasks, we’re free to focus on our dreams, our creativity, our communities, and our deeper human needs. Technology is for people.
He continues to seek new ways to contribute to the explosion in robotics and automation, whether by advising VC firms, mentoring founders and start-ups, or consulting for organizations who want to automate their work.
