Building Physics Leadership & Public Trust

The Hertz Foundation’s partnership with the American Physical Society (APS), the world’s largest physics professional society, unites two organizations committed to scientific excellence and public trust — expanding opportunities for Fellows to lead on quantum science, sharpen their science communication skills, and strengthen the public’s relationship with science.

Advancing quantum

Leveraging APS’s sponsorship of the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (IYQ), this partnership models professional society collaboration by providing Hertz Fellows with visibility and leadership roles at major scientific convenings. In turn, APS taps into the Hertz community’s exceptional talent to lead IYQ sessions and participate in its Science Trust Project. Together, both organizations co-sponsor events that showcase quantum innovation and promote critical graduate opportunities.
