The Fannie and John Hertz Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering the nation’s most promising innovators in science and technology, has named Katie Coggeshall Myers as its new senior director of development, effective January 1, 2025. In this role, Coggeshall Myers will oversee all aspects of fundraising, including development strategy, donor cultivation, solicitation and stewardship to secure funding in support of the foundation’s strategic plan.

Coggeshall Myers brings an outstanding track record, including 18 years of development experience, leading two major capital campaigns, and managing staff, making her an exceptional choice to lead the Hertz Foundation's fundraising efforts.

“I am incredibly inspired by the mission of the Hertz Foundation and the enduring impact that Hertz Fellows have on all of our lives,” said Coggeshall Myers. “It is an honor to lead this talented fundraising team squarely focused on supporting Hertz Fellows in their critical work.”

Throughout her impressive career at the Noble and Greenough School in Massachusetts, Coggeshall Myers has cultivated strong relationships with donors, while successfully helping to secure over $250M in gifts for the Nobles’ endowment — including unrestricted, financial aid, and faculty compensation — and building projects. Prior to her work at Nobles, Coggeshall Myers was an account director on the Adidas account at Leagas Delaney Advertising in San Francisco, and an account supervisor on the Volkswagen account at Arnold Advertising in Boston.

Coggeshall Myers will play a pivotal role in building the foundation’s financial position, and fully realizing its aspirations for the Hertz Fellowship program — the most prestigious graduate fellowship program in the U.S. — and the broader community of more than 1,300 Hertz Fellows, many of whom are among the nation’s most accomplished science and technology leaders. Her work will involve close collaboration with the Hertz staff, board of directors, donors, volunteers and current and future organizational partners.

“Katie quickly distinguished herself as an integral member of the Hertz team when she joined us six months ago. Her fundraising acumen, passion for Hertz’s mission and collaborative nature makes her an ideal leader for our fundraising program,” said Wendy Connors, who will begin as the Hertz Foundation’s new president on January 1, 2025.
