Peter Hagelstein is associate professor of Electrical Engineering at MIT, where his research spans quantum mechanics, condensed matter physics, and unconventional energy processes. Hagelstein earned his undergraduate degree before completing his Ph.D. in electrical engineering at MIT, where his fellowship began in 1976—the same institution where he has spent his career.
