Martin Baughman is professor emeritus of Electrical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin, where he built his career in energy systems research and policy. Baughman earned his undergraduate degree before completing his Ph.D. in electrical engineering at MIT, where his fellowship began in 1970. His research and advisory work addressed the economics and policy dimensions of energy systems, including electric utility planning, energy efficiency, and the integration of renewable energy sources into the grid. He was a founding faculty member of UT Austin’s Energy and Earth Resources program, contributing to graduate education at the intersection of engineering, economics, and energy policy.
