Robert Weis was associate professor of Chemistry at the University of Massachusetts, where he contributed to biochemistry and nucleic acid research. Weis earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan before completing his Ph.D. in chemistry at Stanford University, where his fellowship began in 1982. His research investigated the structure and function of RNA and protein-nucleic acid complexes, contributing to the understanding of RNA-mediated regulation of gene expression.
