MAKING HISTORY

Heather Allen is the Dow Professor and Ohio State Distinguished Scholar in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the Ohio State University.

Heather’s research areas include interfacial phenomena, molecular organization at aqueous surfaces and buried interfaces, lung surfactant biophysics, atmospheric aerosol chemistry, nonlinear optics, and surface vibrational spectroscopy.

Awards include: 2003 Beckman Young Investigator, 2005 Alfred P. Sloan Fellow, 2006 Camille Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar, 2012 American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Fellow, 2013 ACS National Award for Encouraging Women into Careers in the Chemical Sciences.

Her recent awards are: Beckman Young Investigator, Alfred P. Sloan Fellow, Camille Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar.
