Tony Miller, PhD, is the CEO of Entanglement Technologies (ET), a Silicon Valley startup developing ultra-trace vapor sensors. ET is dedicated to the application of cutting edge sensing technologies to hard problems in vapor sensing. He graduated, summa cum laude, from Princeton University with an AB in physics and received numerous honors including the PRISM prize for his senior thesis on multi-photon absorption imaging, the Shenstone prize for physics, early election to Phi Beta Kappa, and the Hertz Fellowship.
After graduation, Anthony began his graduate career at Caltech where he was awarded a research stipend by the Center for the Physics of Information. In 2007, he transferred to Stanford University with his research group where he received a PhD in applied physics in 2011, for his work on the quantum limits of measurement.
Tony is a consultant with the Hertz Biochar Project to develop sanitary and efficient techniques for transforming human waste into fertilizer in developing nations and techniques to efficiently sequester agricultural carbon. This project received funding from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Tony has a wide range of interests including optical and chemical sensing technologies, quantum metrology, atom interferometry, high performance analog electronics, signal processing, and estimation theory. His driving interest is the development and application of high precision and sensitivity sensing technologies.
