Anna Bershteyn, PhD

MAKING HISTORY

Anna Bershteyn is an assistant professor of population health at NYU Langone Health.

She was previously a senior research manager at the Institute for Disease Modeling, where she developed mathematical models for global disease control and eradication.

Anna has been honored by both the Materials Research Society and the Northeast Bioengineering Conference for her development of a fully biodegradable system with a versatile surface chemistry, which has since been leveraged to better understand the immunology of vaccinations, especially HIV. In addition to the Hertz Fellowship, Anna was also supported by the Ida M. Green Fellowship, the Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowship and the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship.

Anna holds a BS and PhD in materials science and engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
