Angeline Dukes is the founder and current President of Black In Neuro. She is the daughter of Haitian and Trinidadian immigrants and a first-generation college graduate. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from the Historically Black College/University, Fisk University. She also earned her Masters degree and just finished her PhD in neuroscience at the University of California, Irvine. She is passionate about the support and mentorship of historically marginalized scholars in science. So she founded an international grassroots organization, Black In Neuro, to amplify, create a community for, and provide resources to Black academics, clinicians, science communicators, and other scholars doing neuroscience-related work all around the world. Dr. Dukes also just began a faculty position at the University of Minnesota where she will be serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neuroscience to continue this work on a local scale.
