National Labs Entrepeneurship Academy

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) offers three Hertz Fellows per year the opportunity to participate in an intensive four-day program providing tools to commercialize their research and technologies outside the lab.

About the Academy

TAKING IDEAS BEYOND THE LAB

Originally developed for scientists at LLNL and Sandia National Laboratories, the curriculum is developed and presented by longtime LLNL partner, the Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at University of California, Davis. LLNL has been hosting the academy since 2015 and has trained over 400 national lab researchers and their partners.

A Partnership to Support Scientific Entrepreneurship

In March 2024, Hertz Fellow Charles Dove, a fourth-year electrical engineering and computer science PhD student at the University of California, Berkeley, became the first Hertz Fellow to attend the Entrepreneurship Academy.
