East Coast Hertz Fellows opened their annual retreat on October 14th in Cambridge, MA. John Holzrichter and Lowell Wood participated in the session hosted by Nathan Myhrvold, Hertz Fellow 1984, on invention and the creative development of ideas. The evening’s keynote speaker was Robert Langer, MIT Institute Professor, who shared his career experiences and encouraged the Fellows to dare to be different and to try something new after their PhDs. Thank you to Louis Lerman for his support of the Fellows retreats and to Erez Lieberman and Michael Schnall-Levin who organized the two-day event culminating in video productions for the “Dance Your PhD”.
